Look who's 5 months

That's right my litte girl is!!! I can't beleive how big she has gotten!!! Right now in her life she is having a blast. She has discovered her feet and pulls them into her mouth, she talks all the time, she is in the process of rolling over, she recognizes her name (only if she is not playing with something), she knows her mommy and daddy, she starts to fuss when mommy leaves the room, she sits up fairly well (still needs something behind her jut in case),  she grabs at everything in her sight, she enjoys watching The many adventures of Winnie the Pooh, she loves to smile, and she loves to laugh!!!
She is such a happy little girl and full of life. We never have a dull moment with her and she is always there to put a smile on our faces. She doesn't even have to do something silly. She just looks at you and smiles and then your day just got better. She carries the light of Christ everywhere we go and smiles at anyone in sight.

Her hair is getting longer and we can put a bow in her hair but it doesn't stay very well, but I am sure within the next month it should be able to stay. She loves to read books. She really likes Goodnight Moon. We started reading some Dr. Suess and she enjoys them. She is such a joy to have in our life and this next month is going to be fun, crazy, and adveturesome.

What A Day!

We have had quite the day today, well sort of. Zoie had an appointment to get her shots. I feel so bad for her, but I know in the long run it will help. I take her to get her shots, because Ryan doesn't want to be the bad guy (I also think it's because he doesn't want to see his little girl in pain and crying). So we get there only to find out Zoie is no longer on medicad insurance. I was a little upset because she is suppose to be on medicad until she is a year old. I called our social service worker and guess what she said?! Zoie was no longer on medicad because we moved and they couldn't get in touch with us!! You would think they could have called or something. Thankfully, Zoie is on medicad now!!!

I love and dislike it when Zoie gets shots. I love it because she is all cuddly, she takes really long naps during the day and sleeps a little longer at night. I dislike it because she hardly eats anything the rest of the day. Ryan pointed out that I don't like to eat when I don't feel good and so I guess I can understand her, but at the same I don't like it. Ryan told me to think of her as another "little person." :)

Zoie cuddling with daddy.

I had some "extra" time today because Zoie took long naps and such. That I made her another pair of leggings and two pillows for our couch. It was so much fun and I am having a blast and can't wait to start others I have in mind.

Because I love him

Ryan's life has been busy with school, papers, work, and meetings. He is doing very well, but is very busy. Some good news that happened to Ryan this last weekend is that his senior paper got accept into this conference at Virginia Military Institute. His professor advised him to submit his paper into the symposium. So he did and few weeks later he got an email saying his paper was accepted and they would like to have him come and present it. Apparently its a big deal and some really top English people will be there. He is very excited and I am excited for him and proud of him. He worked really hard and his senior paper. (he ended up getting an A on it, no surprise there)

Last night Ryan stayed up literally all night working on a paper that's was due early this morning. I didn't even realize he had a paper and I felt really bad that I didn't know. So he asked me to make cookies and because I love him, I made him sugar cookies with orange frosting and sprinkles on a few of them. I Love You, Ryan!!!

While I was making his cookies Zoie and him took a nap together in the living room :)

The beginning of my crafty side

I realized last night that our blog posts consist mainly of Zoie. I know Zoie is the big reason everyone wants to visit our blog and is pretty much the center of our lives right now, but I figured that since it is the Congdon blog I should be letting you all know what is going on in my life and Ryans. Here is what has been going on in my life. I mostly hang out at the house all day with Zoie and play, clean, cook and work on crafts. With that  being said, I have begun my crafty side and have finished a few projects within the last couple of days.

To start off, I finished making aprons for my nieces, it took me a while, but me and the sewing machine got along just fine the other day and I was able to finish. (Sarah we are shipping them tomorrow).

Today I made Zoie some leggings. It was so much fun. There is a plain white one and a black and white one with cheeries on them.

And here is Zoie modeling a pair. Doesn't she look so cute!!!

I made some hairbows for my visiting teachee. She just had her little girl on friday and I thought she must need some. Every girl must have hairbows I believe. :)

That's the beginning of my crafty side... hopefully more to come soon, so keep a look out!!

Just about mastered. . .

Sitting up!!!! Zoie has almost mastered sitting up. She can sit up all by herself for a while, as long as someone is there just in case she tips over. She normally falls over when she gets really excited. It's so cute. She is doing great and learning more and more about this world around her and how her little body works. She loves to talk and make noise, but seems to be shy when we are out in public. She is one talking bug, for sure.

I would like you all to know that Zoie slept for 8 hours straight last night and it was amazing. We are getting close to the whole sleeping through the night thing. I almost couldn't believe she slept that long. Our little bug is growing up and it's so much fun to watch. Zoie's personality is starting to take over. She has such a happy personality and loves to make others happy. I am so lucky to have her as my daughter and raise such a precious and happy child of God. I love you Zoie!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone. I hope you all enjoyed your day. Well... Ryan's mom, aunt, and grandma came down for a visit. So we hung out pretty much all day, we watched movies and played Yahtzee.

Ryan was in class all day and then he had to work tonight. Big Bummer... on Valentine's Day!!!! To some it may seem like I am over reacting, but it is Valentine's Day and he goes to school all day, comes home does his homework or goes right to work. I don't get to see him or spend as much time as I would like with him and I guess it feels like Valentine's Day is the day where we HAVE to make time to spend with each other. We kind of made that time... scheduling around a baby is a bit difficult, but we managed. We were able to spend about an hour out for dinner before we had to get back in time to put Zoie down for bed and Ryan to leave for work. It was nice to spend a little bit of time together though.

Here are some fun pictures from today: Enojy!!!

In honor of Valentine's Day I made peanut butter balls and heart shaped sugar cookies.

I told her to smile because it's Valentine's Day and this is what she did... just like her daddy:)

Opening up her Valentine's with Great Aunt Carol.

Tummy Time. Oh she is "especially cute"
She is trying to get up on those knees...you know what that means.

I would like to publicly announce a Happy Valentine's Day to the love of my life Ryan!! So... Happy Valentine's Day, Ryan!! I love you lots. Always & Forever!

"I stick my tongue out at you!"

That is the phase Zoie is at right now, "I stick my tongue out at you!" Sunday evening we went over to a friends house to celebrate his birthday and their daughter Ivy (she is about 2 weeks younger than Zoie) learned how to spit and make bubbles. It's really cute. Ever since that night Zoie has been sticking her tongue out like crazy and attempting to blow bubbles. It's hilarious to watch. I guess Zoie is going to be a visual learner. She wathes you do something and maybe if she wants to will try it later on:) This evening I was playing with her and I stuck my tongue out at her and she responds by sticking her tongue out at me. So I quickly grabbed the camera to capture our "tongue war." Sorry some of the pictures may be blurry, we were moving, but you can see her tongue and how much she loves to stick her tongue out.

This was right after I stuck my tongue out at her

just too cute-- a little smile in there

just because I can now. :)

I am enjoying Zoie's new discoveries every day and can't wait for the next. Zoie is having a blast as well and gets really happy and all sorts of excitedness when she learns something new.

Moments . . . A Gift

We had a rough night last night, Zoie was up about every hour, Ryan was up late working on a paper, and I just wanted to get a good nights rest. I am just getting over being sick, Zoie was sick Sunday, and Ryan is just getting sick. I tried to sleep in a little longer than normal, but couldn't because Zoie is in one of those "I'm going to talk all day" moods. She was having so much fun with her imagination. It was really cute. Another moment in life to cherish.

Yesterday Zoie had her 4 month checkup. At 4 months Zoie weighs 13lbs 6oz, 24 1/4 in long, and her head circumference is 16 in. She is getting so big. Since she was born she has gained 7 lbs, and has grown 5 inches. Man how time flies by. Those 4  months have brought the greatest happiness and joy into our home and we have loved every moment. Moments are a gift from our Father in Heaven. Don't let them pass on by. Cherish and love those moments forever. A moment to cherish My Piano Girl.
