Zoie's going to have a little...

SISTER!!

Yesterday we had the BIG doctors appointment. We found out we are going to have another sweet little girl. We are super excited to add another girl to the family. Zoie loved seeing the baby and kept pointing and saying "baby." Zoie came to my side while lying down to hold my hand and lay her head on my side. It was really cute. The sonogramer, kept asking me if this baby moves around all the time. I told her that I've felt movements, but not constantly like I did with Zoie. The reason for asking me this, is that this girl was moving like crazy and it was hard for her to get pictures of all the anatomy she needed. It was pretty funny. She ended up getting some really good shots, take a look. Only 19 weeks left!!!

Staying STRONG in the STORMS of Life

"The Touch of the Master's Hand"
--President Packer General Conference, April 2001

'Twas battered and scarred, and the auctioneer
Thought it scarcely worth his while
To waste much time on the old violin,
But held it up with a smile: "what am I bidden, good
folks," he cried.

Who’ll start the bidding for me?”
“A dollar, a dollar”; then, “Two!” “Only two?
Two dollars, and who’ll make it three?
Three dollars, once; three dollars, twice;
Going for three—” But no,
From the room, far back, a gray-haired man
Came forward and picked up the bow;
Then, wiping the dust from the old violin,
And tightening the loose strings,
He played a melody pure and sweet
As a caroling angel sings.

The music ceased, and the auctioneer,
With a voice that was quiet and low,
Said, “What am I bid for the old violin?”
And he held it up with the bow.
“A thousand dollars, and who’ll make it two?
Two thousand! And who’ll make it three?
Three thousand, once, three thousand, twice,
And going, and gone!” said he.
The people cheered, but some of them cried,
“We do not quite understand
What changed its worth.” Swift came the reply:
“The touch of a master’s hand.”

And many a man with life out of tune,
And battered and scarred with sin,
Is auctioned cheap to the thoughtless crowd,
Much like the old violin.
A “mess of pottage,” a glass of wine,
A game—and he travels on.
He’s “going” once, and “going” twice,
He’s “going” and almost “gone.”
But the Master comes, and the foolish crowd
Never can quite understand
The worth of a soul and the change that’s wrought
By the touch of the Master’s hand.

We all make mistakes.  It is then in our nature to feel guilt and humiliation and suffering, which we alone cannot cure. That is when the healing power of the Atonement will help. The Atonement has practical, personal, everyday value; apply it in your life. It can be activated with so simple a beginning as prayer. You will not thereafter be free from trouble and mistakes, but can erase the guilt through repentance and be at peace.

There is always a way to escape and conquer the STORMS in life. You just need to realize that the first step to accomplishing those STORMS is to admit that changes need to be made, and pray to our Father in Heaven and activate the Saviors atonement into your life.

Life isn't going to be easy, but there is a way to overcome every difficult challenge placed in our life. I hope that you will turn to your Father in Heaven and allow him to heal you with the "touch of His hand."

Lego Building

The other day Zoie had her friend Ivy over to play. They are best of friends and its cute to see them interact together. At one point they dumped out both bags of lego blocks. Zoie sat down in the middle of the mess and start to stack the legos. She would only stack the single ones, it was fun.

House Tour Part II

I realized the other day, that I started a House Tour a long long time ago and haven't updated since the living room. So I am going to continue on with this and begin again with Zoie's room.

Entering Zoie's room

What you see as you enter:)

The other side of her room

This is what is hanging above the changing table. I made it for her birthday.
Not quite done, got to add the butterflies. :)

Baby Update

Baby #2 is doing great. Heartbeat is strong. Two weeks from tomorrow we will find out what we are having and we are very excited. Zoie loves her little sibling and loves to give the baby kisses. She is so cute. I have been doing great. I have had some cravings but other than that, life has been pretty normal for me, except the belly growing part. :) Anyway, there is a quick update on me and the baby. Here is a picture of me, since you all want to see. (I am showing a little earlier than I did with Zoie, which is to be expected).

Staying STRONG in the STORMS of Life

Satan is constantly in our lives. He is always trying to find ways to bring trials, hardships, heartache, and, pain into our lives. Sometimes, it is hard to keep telling Him to leave and to overcome all those challenges. Sister Bonnie D. Parkin, a former Relief Society General President, gave a talk entitled, "Remember Who You Are!" Her advice and words of wisdom has helped me learn to resist Satan and stay STRONG in my STORMS of life. I'll share my insights with you and encourage you to read this talk and feel of the love of God, and know you, personally can bind and rid Satan from your life. Write your thoughts and feelings down and see how the work of the Lord has blessed you in your life.

  • Being 'faithful and true' in your desires for righteousness.
  • To know is to do!
  • When we know something-- truly understand it-- then we do it.
  • I have been around for a long, knowing who I am changes what I do.
  • Gaining the knowledge of my eternal identity happens right now.
  • Part of seeking the kingdom first is seeking my specific place in the kingdom.
  • I too, can have innumerable spiritual experiences, and continue to ask Heavenly Father for further light and knowledge. Thus, the more I learn about God, the more I can become like Him.
  • What was promised to Moses, is promised to me.
  • To learn the things of Heaven, I must remove myself from the world.
  • Separating myself from the world both in distance and in worthiness is an act of great struggle.
  • Each time I feel the love of the Lord, I am experiencing a portion of His glory.
  • The Lord has a mission and purpose for ME.
  • It is essential that I learn what I am here.
  • "Your patriarchal blessing protects you from becoming weary in your mind. It reminds you who you are. It is personal scripture of the work you have to do and what you need to know about yourself."
  • I cannot come to know my calling with my natural eyes-- natural eyes do not require faith.
  • True faith is only made manifest in the face of heart-piercing trials.
  • Satan understands that when I doubt who I really am He can have control over me.
  • If Moses didn't experience God's glory, the darkness would have been less obvious.
  • I know how to judge between right and wrong, good and evil, God and Satan.
  • I can be strengthened by knowing my divine birthright.
  • i cannot give up praying to Heavenly Father. I must keep trying, even if the heavens seem sealed and silent. Plead for help and strength and direction from the Lord.
  • As Jesus learned, so can I; Faith not fear will conquer Satan.
  • Praying to God, brings strength to my soul.
  • "The only power I know of that will bind Satan, or render him powerless, is righteous living." -Elder Eldred G. Smith
  • Come to know Whose We Are
  • To know and receive the great reward, we must know how to remove ourselves from the world
  • DON'T GIVE UP. Heavenly Father is ready to help you bind Satan, to help you accomplish your dreams, and to help you stay STRONG in the STORMS of life.
