Have you ever been stumped on what to get someone for Christmas, Birthdays, Coaches, etc? Then you need to learn and discover the wondeful workings of Shutterfly. Shutterfly is a great place to design and create meaningful moments in life.

They have creative and fun styles for christmas photo-cards and stationary. http://www.shutterfly.com/cards-stationery/christmas-photo-cards

My favorites are the unique colorful ones.

I really enjoy this design and plan on using it as our Family Letter this year. I think it reflects our lives this past year.

Not only can you make christmas photo-cards, you can create a personal photo calendar. These also make great gifts for parents. :) I am working on one right now for my parents. Its a great way to see how your children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and family progress throughout the year. It's also a great way to reflect on past events and memories the previous year.

Some of my friends like to make photo-mugs for their grandparents or for fathers day and mothers day with a picture of them on it. GUESS WHAT??? Shutterfly can help you do that. Choose a style and background that you like and then go town creating a wonderful, masterpiece of a gift. :)

Christmas Shopping Done!!!

I finally have all my Christmas Shopping done!!!!! Now all I need to do is finish making some gifts and I'll be good to go. Ryan and I have decided to have our little family Christmas before we head up to Vermont. It's going to be so much fun. Zoie and I have had a lot of fun shopping for Ryan. Its been fun to wrap presents while Ryan is at school and to have him come home and notice the presents under the tree. Ryan is such a little kid, he gets all sorts of excitedness ( don't even think thats a word, but it is now:).

A family tradition that we have started this year, because we now have a child, is getting an ornament that somewhat describes our childs life this past year. On Christmas Eve, they will open that gift up and hang it on the tree. We wanted to do this, so when our children grow up and get married they can take their ornaments with them to remember their childhood days. It'll be fun. So for Zoie we got her "My First Christmas" and we will stick a picture of her in the ornament "opening up" gifts Christmas Day.

Side note -- This is Ryan's last week of classes before finals. I can't believe the semester is over. I am super excited because Ryan will be able to have plenty of daddy - daughter time with Zoie. He hasn't gotten much with being busy with school, homework, work, meetings, etc. Ryan will love it because she is starting to be more alert and active. Overall, I am excited because we get to spend some quality time as a family.

First Snow of the Season

I was cleaning the house today and went to put some stuff in the car and when I opened up the door it was SNOWING!!!!!!!!!!!!  Buena Vista has had the first snow of the season, so exciting. Let's just hope we don't get snowed in again this year.

For some weird reason when I see snow my mind automatically thinks of Christmas. Seeing snow and wathcing the snow fall gets me all excited and happy inside. It makes me feel like a little kid who wants to spend the rest of the day playing in it and making a snowman. After all that I just want to sit and cuddle with Ryan by a fire, drinking hot cocoa and watching the snow fall. It's just so peaceful and I can just feel the love in the air. :)

Here are some pictures:

Zoie's Dream

Every time I try to record Zoie talking she stops and just stares at my phone. This morning I was finally able to record her talking to me. So excuse my voice and noises I make to get her to talk and just enjoy listening to Zoie tell her dream. ( I hope this works!)

It's All Worth It!!

Zoie is a really good baby and I know I am being spoiled. She is going to bed for the night around 7-8pm (Used to be 6:30pm, but her naps have changed all of a sudden) and sleeps til about 3 am. We feed and then she goes back to sleep til 6am and depending on her mood will go back to sleep or stay awake.

It's really hard to get myself up and awake so early in the morning to feed and play with her. The last few days I have been sick and all I want to do is get some good rest so I can get better. However, being a mom of a 2 month old makes that difficult to do.

I honestly believe my little girl understands it's tough on me and so when I roll over to get her from her bed, she looks up at me and gives me a big smile. That's when I thank the Lord for reminding me it's worth it and that she loves me.

1 December 2010

Happy 1st day of December!!!

One of my roommates in college always said this to one of her friends and for some reason ever since she told me about it, I started writing it down in my journal. Now... I say it to you all. :)

All I can say is PRECIOUS

Tea Parties and Books

So I recently joined a "tea party and book club" with a bunch of girls from the University. We basically read a book then gather together, drink herbal tea and discuss the book. Tonight was our first get together. We read The Bell Jar by Slyvia Plath. Before discussing the book, I didn't know if I liked it or not... now I like it. However, I only feel that way because I discussed it with others and better understood Slyvia's writing styles ( I personally think discussing this book may be the only way to enjoy it). The book is basically about a girl whose insanity takes over her and she finds herself inside this "the bell jar."  This book makes me really think about my own life. Am I really doing what I want to be doing or am I doing what others want me to do? I am enjoying my life and am loving what I am doing. My answer is, YES, I am doing what I want to be doing. I want to be a mom, a wife, a fitness instructor, and so much more. I can constantly see the Lord's hand in my life. I absolutely LOVE my life!! What about you?

It's Christmas Time!!

Oh, how I love the Christmas Season! I love the smells, the music, how happy everyone gets, the anticipation of opening presents, the food, and most of all spending quality time with family.

Zoie enjoyed watching us put the lights on the tree (we had them plugged in). This was a change from us putting the Christmas tree together. She didn't like that. :)

With Christmas music playing loudly in our house, we set up our little Christmas tree and put our colorful lights around the tree and our"Stupid Train" ornament, "Our First Christmas '09" colored glass balls, and our white glittering icicles decorations on it. Then to finish it off Ryan put our lovely homemade star on the top. It was so much fun!!

Yes, the star on our tree is made out of paper. Last Christmas we were snowed in and couldn't go shopping. Ryan being the creative guy that he is, decided to cut, color and make this star for our Christmas tree. This year we decided not to buy one. We like this one and it brings back fun memories we had our first Christmas together. Maybe one day our kids will say "We should get mom and dad a real star for Christmas." Hehe..

Our life so far has been great! Ryan is finishing up his last year of school and will graduate in May with a degree in English. He is writing his senior paper this semester, which he and his professor decided before Thanksgiving to do. His paper is on a topic from William Faulkner. Ryan is going crazy and is staying up all hours of the night, every night. He better get an 'A' on this paper. :)

I currently work at Gold's Gym as a fitness instructor. I teach Body Flow, which is a combination of Yoga, Tai Chi, and Pilates. I love it and it's great to be back teaching, my people missed me. Most of the day I stay at home and hang out with Zoie all day!. It's so much fun!! We read books, watch movies, and a whole bunch of other crazy things.

Zoie's new accomplishment. Tummy time is a blast with this energetic little girl. She is all smiles and makes so much noise. Its so cute. Lately this girl has not been going to bed at her normal time. She fell into a routine for about two weeks of going to bed every night around 6:30 and getting up at 3am. It was really nice, I got to sleep. But the past couple of days she hasn't been going to bed at all. She takes little naps for about an hour to an hour in a half and wakes up. Ryan and I think she must be going through a growth spurt.

Oh the things parents do for their children. I never realized it til I had one of my own. I am very grateful to my parents for all that they did for me thorughout my life, especially my mother. Having Zoie made me realize what a strong, amazing woman my mother is.

Zoie's Blessing

November 7, 2010 --

Zoie was blessed by her father. Her Gramps Brent, Grandpa Congdon, and cousin Shea Gibbons were in the circle as well.

It took me forever to finish this dress. I wouldn't of been able to finish on time if it weren't for my mom.
