Pumpkin Carving & Glow in the Dark Painting

Monday our FHE activity was carving and painting glow in the dark pumpkins. It was a lot of fun. The girls loved it especially Charlotte. It was so cute to watch them. Charlotte kept painting and laughing and Zoie kept saying this is awesome and so cool and fun! Love my girls.

I got a regular big pumpkin, Zoie picked out a pink pumpkin that Ryan struggled to carve (hahaha...), 3 little pumpkins (one was from our very own pumpkin patch) and a small one Charlotte picked out. It was a memorable night for sure.

Getting ready to make their pumpkins glow in the dark!

See what I mean by struggling to carve to the pumpkin

wanted to help me clean out my pumpkin. She stuck her hand in for one second and freaked out and went back to painting her pumpkin.

Sorry you can't see the girls pumpkins glowing in the dark, so just imagine the coolness of all the neon green, yellow, orange, and pink colors dripping down their pumpkins. :)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

D.I.Y Picture Board

This afternoon I got a little crafty and created a board to hang our 16 x 20 family picture. I love it and the best thing is I had everything on hand. I originally wanted to find a good old detailed frame, but couldn't and then I came up with this beauty in our hallway!

Like I said before I had everything on hand and this what I used to create this lovely! :)

Some plywood. I already had this cut from another project and it ended up being
19 x 29 I believe.

Then pick your fabric you want and cut it to the size of your board with an extra inch on each side to fold over onto the back. ( I got this lovely piece of fabric from a fabric swap night with some girl-friends, score!)

Then take your Spray Adhesive and spray the board and place your fabric over and rub the creases out, until nice and smooth. Turn your board over and spray the edge of the board to fold over the fabric onto the back of the board.
*keep in mind spray adhesive is really sticky, be sure to use it outside with something underneath your project. You may also want to wear some disposable vinyl gloves, so you're not scrubbing and scrubbing your fingers off like I did, oops)

And this is what it should look like afterwards. All nice, smooth and tight!

Once you have that all completed take your picture and place it on top, all lined up, then I used thumb tacks and placed them at the corners of my picture and pushed them in. Then hot glued some ribbon on the back to hang it all onto the wall.

Now you have a unique frame board for your family picture or whatever you decide to use it. You can quickly turn it into just a decorated board without a picture.

The uses are endless. :)

Mountain Days

At the beginning of the month, our town does a little street fair. It's lots of fun. I love going and seeing all the projects out and we always get ourselves some delicious fudge. The girls love it as well. They get to dance, play with water, make ropes, etc. I even had a little booth with a friend and sold a couple of my Simply Lace projects. It's a great activity for our family. We look forward to it every year!

Here is a video of Charlotte dancing to the music playing.
She is so stinkin' adorable and fun!

Fall Farm Days: Activities

They had a lot of activities at the Fall Farm Days. There were tractor rides, pumpkins, making butter, tunnels to run through, slide through, boxes of corn to play in, and those huge hay bails to run on. The girls had a blast. Zoie loved playing in the corn boxes and running on the hay bails and Charlotte loved sliding and walking in the black tunnels. Pictures are in no particular order. Enjoy!
