It's Christmas Time!!
Oh, how I love the Christmas Season! I love the smells, the music, how happy everyone gets, the anticipation of opening presents, the food, and most of all spending quality time with family.
Zoie enjoyed watching us put the lights on the tree (we had them plugged in). This was a change from us putting the Christmas tree together. She didn't like that. :)
With Christmas music playing loudly in our house, we set up our little Christmas tree and put our colorful lights around the tree and our"Stupid Train" ornament, "Our First Christmas '09" colored glass balls, and our white glittering icicles decorations on it. Then to finish it off Ryan put our lovely homemade star on the top. It was so much fun!!
Yes, the star on our tree is made out of paper. Last Christmas we were snowed in and couldn't go shopping. Ryan being the creative guy that he is, decided to cut, color and make this star for our Christmas tree. This year we decided not to buy one. We like this one and it brings back fun memories we had our first Christmas together. Maybe one day our kids will say "We should get mom and dad a real star for Christmas." Hehe..
Our life so far has been great! Ryan is finishing up his last year of school and will graduate in May with a degree in English. He is writing his senior paper this semester, which he and his professor decided before Thanksgiving to do. His paper is on a topic from William Faulkner. Ryan is going crazy and is staying up all hours of the night, every night. He better get an 'A' on this paper. :)
I currently work at Gold's Gym as a fitness instructor. I teach Body Flow, which is a combination of Yoga, Tai Chi, and Pilates. I love it and it's great to be back teaching, my people missed me. Most of the day I stay at home and hang out with Zoie all day!. It's so much fun!! We read books, watch movies, and a whole bunch of other crazy things.
Zoie's new accomplishment. Tummy time is a blast with this energetic little girl. She is all smiles and makes so much noise. Its so cute. Lately this girl has not been going to bed at her normal time. She fell into a routine for about two weeks of going to bed every night around 6:30 and getting up at 3am. It was really nice, I got to sleep. But the past couple of days she hasn't been going to bed at all. She takes little naps for about an hour to an hour in a half and wakes up. Ryan and I think she must be going through a growth spurt.
Oh the things parents do for their children. I never realized it til I had one of my own. I am very grateful to my parents for all that they did for me thorughout my life, especially my mother. Having Zoie made me realize what a strong, amazing woman my mother is.
